For the preliminary task i researched different types of genre and the styles they have, there are a lot to choose from as i enjoy a large rang of TV shows and movies. Comedy was the main aim for me and partner as we are both massive fans of it but we chose to stay clear of it. This was because it is always hard to make a good comedy as there is such a wide verity of humour and it is easy to loose interest if its not your style!
In the end we chose to go with crime drama, we chose this because me and my partner both enjoy it as we have watched shows such as top boy and the fall! Crime drama has a smaller spectrum of taste making it easier for the audience to maintain interest and enjoy it to its full potential!
Story board
The image below shows our story board, me and my partner use this to our advantage to give us a good guide line of what we wanted our final production to look like. We used it on site a lot as it allowed us to know exactly where the camera needed to be and which angle needed to be used. It allowed us to see any mistakes we had made during filming as the story board was our ideal finished film!
Script:
The scrip was very difficult to come up with as we needed to try and make it short enough to fit the film but make sense at the same time. We looked at the film Taken to inspire our script and to see how they used different terminology to make the script effective. This allowed me to stick to the genre and make sure people understand and get drawn in to the film
